At the JFE Steel Corporation West Japan Works (Fukuyama District), steel is produced in an efficiently arranged, immense site—as big as 300 Tokyo Domes. During a tour of the steelworks, various materials are used to introduce the steel manufacturing process and the unique characteristics of the Fukuyama area in an easy-to-understand manner. In addition, this tour will give you the opportunity to view the control room of the blast furnace, which is the symbol of the steelworks, as well as view the rolling mill where red hot steel plates are rolled into thin sheets at high speeds.
