At the Fukuyama City Recycling Plaza, you can take part in various educational activities related to garbage. These activities include watching a DVD that introduces both the facility’s efforts in the 3 Rs (Reduce, Reuse, Recycle) and its waste processing facilities, taking part in recycling workshops about reusing discarded items (such as making eco bags out of old newspapers and creating personal chopsticks out of scrap materials), and learning about environmentally conscious efforts such as the display and sales of discarded furniture. Furthermore, at the Recycling Plaza, you can learn not only about issues concerning garbage but also about a wide range of environmental issues such as global warming and biodiversity as well as about the renewable energies in relation to the Next-Generation Energy Park. There is also an educational facility where visitors can “come, see, and interact,” allowing you to learn about energy while playing!
